Description
If you’re looking to impress with a homemade meal that feels luxurious yet comforting, Creamy Steak Gorgonzola Alfredo is your answer. This dish takes traditional Alfredo to new heights by adding rich, savory lamb steak and the sharp tang of Gorgonzola. Growing up, pasta was a staple in my home, but this recipe brings an upscale twist to a beloved classic.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb lamb steak, thinly sliced: Lamb offers a robust, tender meat that holds up well against the rich sauce.
- Salt and pepper, to taste: Enhances the natural flavor of the steak.
- 8 oz fettuccine pasta: Fettuccine works best for soaking up the creamy sauce, but feel free to use your favorite pasta shape.
- 2 tablespoons olive oil: For searing the steak and ensuring it cooks with a beautiful crust.
- 4 cloves garlic, minced: Adds a punch of aromatic flavor to the sauce.
- 1 cup heavy cream: Forms the base of the luxurious Alfredo sauce.
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese: Adds sharpness and a nutty flavor that complements the creamy sauce.
- ½ cup Gorgonzola cheese, crumbled: For that signature bold, tangy flavor that makes this dish stand out.
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish): A fresh touch to finish the dish, adding a pop of color and a hint of freshness.
Instructions
- Prepare the Steak
Begin by seasoning the lamb steak with salt and pepper on both sides. You want to ensure each slice is well coated for maximum flavor when seared. Set it aside while you prepare the other ingredients. - Cook the Fettuccine
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the fettuccine according to the package instructions. Aim for al dente—firm yet tender pasta. Once done, drain and set the pasta aside while you finish the rest of the dish. - Sear the Steak
Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once the oil is shimmering, add the seasoned lamb steak slices. Cook for 3-4 minutes on each side, depending on the thickness of the meat, until a nice crust forms and the steak is browned on the outside but still juicy on the inside. Remove the steak from the skillet and set it aside, keeping it warm. - Sauté the Garlic
In the same skillet, reduce the heat slightly and add the minced garlic. Sauté for about a minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn it. - Prepare the Creamy Parmesan Sauce
Slowly pour in the heavy cream, stirring frequently. Let it simmer gently for a few minutes to thicken. Gradually add the Parmesan cheese, whisking constantly until it melts into the sauce. This creates the rich Alfredo base. Once the Parmesan is fully incorporated, stir in the Gorgonzola cheese, allowing it to melt and infuse the sauce with its distinct tangy flavor. - Serve and Garnish
Once everything is heated through and well combined, transfer the pasta to serving plates. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley for a burst of freshness, and enjoy immediately!
Notes
- Balanced Flavors: The richness of the Alfredo sauce pairs perfectly with the tangy bite of Gorgonzola and savory steak.
- Customizable: Swap the lamb steak for chicken or shrimp to suit different tastes, and adjust the cheese based on preference (blue cheese or even mild cheddar work too!).
